What Were All Those Sirens the Other Night?

Residents along Canyon Ferry Road are abuzz with speculation about the cause for all the sirens the other night. Gathered at the Glass Slipper Bar & Casino, a local haunt along the route of the mysterious emergency vehicles, the topic dominated conversation amongst the afternoon regulars.

“I heard one siren go by, and that guy was going fast! Next thing I knew, there were at least a few more. I didn’t get to the window in time to see them though,” one elderly man recounted, as he gulped the last of his Michelob Ultra from an ice-filled pint glass.

“Oh, they woke me up!” another patron exclaimed.

“Probably another accident on that corner by the Yacht Basin – those guys always drive so fast through there,” an old rancher chimed in from a nearby video keno machine.

Bar owner Katie Glass slowly shook her head as she slid a pork sandwich into the large automated fryer behind the bar and set the timer.

“Who needs another round?”

Inquiries to the sheriff’s office and emergency services by The Continental Observer staff went unanswered.

If you have more information, please call our tip line or stop by the Glass Slipper between 3pm and 5pm to let us know what all those sirens were the other night.
