Local Man Wins Big on Deal & No Deal

Celebrity comic Howie Mandel hosts Deal or No Deal on NBC.

Montana City native Wesley “Nuff” Sedd made a big spash on national television this week. He appeared on the Wednesday night episode of Deal or No Deal. Celebrity host and legendary comic Howie Mandel welcomed Mr. Sedd into the hot seat during the second segment of the popular game show.

Despite the presence of guest audience member and former hit talk show host Rosie O’Donnell cheering him on from the sidelines, the game didn’t end quite so rosy for Mr. Sedd. After a nice starting streak of 5 correct suitcases trades, “Nuff” stumbled on his 6th choice and left with a paltry $50.

“There’s a tear in my eye thankful for the chance to look Howie Mandel in the eye and say, ‘Let’s go for it.’ I’m his biggest fan and I even got the same matching gold earrings that he wears as my salute to him. He just fist-bumped me straight to heaven.”

Mr. Sedd has a rich history in Helena lore. His “grandpappy” started the first timber mill in the valley in 1879. Wesley’s grandfather, John “Shoulda” Sedd immigrated from the grassy rolling hills of Poland to the Rocky Mountains in a brave 8-month trip around 1873.

“Homesteading on these wide sweeping hills was what ‘grandpappy’ was built for,” explained Mr. Sedd. “I like to think I’ve inherited some of his strength and passion in the way I love to solve game show puzzles.”

However his energetic bluster, “Nuff” walked away from the show empty handed, but still full-hearted. The fullfilment of a lifelong dream was reward e-“Nuff”.

“Keep your eye on the prize on don’t give up on your dreams,” a teary-eyed Mr. Sedd concludes.

With inspirations like “Nuff”, we think our dreams might just come true.
